Regular Season Round 10: Caballos - Panteras 82-87
Date: October 1, 2016
LPB top team - Panteras (7-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Caballos (3-7) in Aguadulce 87-82. Caballos were ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 54-43 second half run of Panteras. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard Brad Da Costa (183-89) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and Luis Ibarra (188-85) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists by the former international swingman Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Caballos. American forward Justin Moss (201-93, college: Buffalo) added 18 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caballos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Panteras maintains first position with 7-3 record. Caballos at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Toros. Panteras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Panama City Aguilas.
