Regular Season Round 4: Caballos - Panteras 29-70

LPB top team - Panteras (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Caballos (0-4) 70-29. The game without a history. Panteras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caballos to just 6 points in first and fourth quarters and to 14 points in first half. Panteras well out of reach of Caballos shooting 84.4 percent from the field. Swingman Shayra Brown (175-92, college: Boston Coll.) fired 22 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. Venezuela point guard Sofia Brandelik (196-98) chipped in 9 points. Gloria Martinez produced 8 points and Michel Lopez added 6 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Caballos still closes the standings with four games lost. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caballos will play against Correcaminos (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
