Regular Season Round 2: Gornik Walbrzych - Gimbasket WRC 84-55

The most important game of round 2 took place in Walbrzych of Group D where Gornik crushed Gimbasket WRC (1-1) 84-55 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Gornik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Gimbasket WRC's 20. They outrebounded Gimbasket WRC 53-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gornik looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Marcin Wrobel (200-87) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Forward Przemyslaw Gworek (195-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Rafal Malitka (205-91) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gimbasket WRC will play next round against Koscian trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gornik will try to continue on its current victory against Kalisz on the road.
