No shocking result in a game in Bialystok where Syntex Ksiezak (2-0) edged Zubry (0-2) 71-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 17-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-9. Syntex Ksiezak made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 30 Zubry turnovers. Strangely Zubry outrebounded Syntex Ksiezak 51-31 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Bartosz Wluczynski (176-88) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maciej Cukierda (195-91) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Michal Bombrych (182-98) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Arkadiusz Zabielski (197-84) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Zubry's coach Jakub Jakubiec tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Syntex Ksiezak will face Shmoolky W-wa (#4) in Warszawa in the next round. Zubry will play on the road against AZS PS Kielce (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
