CREF Hola used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Las Palmas 77-66 on Sunday night. The game without a history. CREF Hola led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. CREF Hola had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Taysha Pye (175-89, college: William & Mary) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by Czech forward Michaela Stejskalova (186-87) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CREF Hola will meet Zamarat (#7) in the next round. Gran Canaria will play against Gernika (#4) and hope to win that game.
