Regular Season Round 1: Promete - Leganes 49-58

Leganes' road win over Promete 58-49 was very exciting. The game without a history. Leganes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Leganes forced 26 Promete turnovers. Strangely Promete outrebounded Leganes 45-27 including 33 on the defensive glass. Promete was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Marta Perez (177-94) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American forward Christina Marinacci (185-91, college: USC) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side center Claudia Calvelo (192-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 6 points and 17 rebounds and Deborah Ayela scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Promete's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leganes will face Alcobendas at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promete will play against Antiguo Boscos (#2) in Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
