Regular Season Round 2: Cadi La Seu - Gipuzkoa UPV 66-62

There was a surprise result when Cadi La Seu (1-1) won against Gipuzkoa UPV (1-1) in Seu D'urgell 66-62 on Sunday. Gipuzkoa UPV was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Cadi La Seu forced 20 Gipuzkoa UPV turnovers. Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and German point guard Svenja Brunckhorst (179-91) supported her with 10 points. Cadi La Seu's coach Joan Carles Pie used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 25 points and 4 steals by Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) did not help to save the game for Gipuzkoa UPV. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) added 14 points for the guests. Cadi La Seu will meet Mann Filter (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa UPV will play against Perfumerias Avenida (#2) in Salamanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
