Regular Season Round 3: Obras Basket - Argentino 77-71

Date: October 3, 2016
An interesting game took place in Buenos Aires where Argentino (1-3) was upset on the court of Obras Basket (1-2) 77-71 on Monday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-11. But Argentino won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Argentino 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Argentino was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Dennis Horner (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Obras Basket's coach Nicolas Casalanguida used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Obras Basket will face Weber Bahia (#9) in Bahia Blanca in the next round. Argentino will play at home against Quilmes MP and hope to win that game.
