Regular Season Round 2: Samorin - Banska Bystrica 75-43

Date: October 5, 2016
Rather predictable result when Samorin (2-0) smashed at home Banska Bystrica (0-2) 75-43. The game without a history. Samorin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Banska Bystrica to just 2 points in second quarter. Samorin held Banska Bystrica to an opponent 21.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Samorin forced 19 Banska Bystrica turnovers. The former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Mirjana Beronja (170-86) supported her with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Samorin's coach Tomas Kacmarik felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points by Petra Stevulova (175-95) did not help to save the game for Banska Bystrica. Point guard Jana Matejcikova (168-97) added 11 points for the guests. Samorin will play against Slovan (#6) in Bratislava in the next round where they are favorite. Banska Bystrica will play at home against BAM Poprad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
