Regular Season Round 4: Quimsa - Olimpico LB 72-62

Date: October 5, 2016
The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Quimsa as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Norte. Quimsa defeated 5th ranked Olimpico de La Banda in Santiado Estero 72-62. It was a key game for the top position in Norte. The game was mostly controlled by Quimsa. Olimpico de La Banda managed to win fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimsa forced 22 Olimpico de La Banda turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Olimpico de La Banda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) fired 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Diego Guaita (203-83) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and Mauro Cosolito (195-88) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Olimpico de La Banda's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quimsa have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Quimsa will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked La Union in Formosa.
