Regular Season Round 2: Valencia - Real Madrid 75-94

Date: October 6, 2016
An interesting game was also a 19-point tough home loss of Valencia Basket in a game versus undefeated Real Madrid (#5) 94-75. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Valencia Basket managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International Sergio Llull (190-87) notched 18 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and international Rudy Fernandez (197-85) supported him with 17 points. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) did not help to save the game for Valencia Basket. International point guard Guillem Vives (192-93, agency: Interperformances) added 9 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valencia Basket will play against Gran Canaria (#14) in Las Palmas and hope to win that game.
