There was no surprise when 7th ranked La Union (1-3) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (4-2) 80-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpico de La Banda. La Union was better in second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) fired 20 points for the winners. The former international Federico Van Lacke (191-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. International power forward Pablo Orlietti (207-90) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and American-Jamaica center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to second place in Norte. Loser La Union keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will have a break next round. La Union will play on the road against the league's leader Quimsa (#1) in Santiado Estero and hope to win that game.
