Very expected game in Buenos Aires where 8th ranked Obras Basket (1-3) was defeated by top-ranked Weber Bahia (3-0) 92-88 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-17. But Obras Basket won second period 27-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Weber Bahia forced 20 Obras Basket turnovers. Strangely Obras Basket outrebounded Weber Bahia 40-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Guard Maximo Fjellerup (195-97) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International guard Lucio Redivo (183-94) chipped in 21 points. Weber Bahia's coach Sebastian Ginobili used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. International center Matias Bortolin (205-93, agency: Interperformances) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Dennis Horner (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Weber Bahia and five Obras Basket players scored in double figures. Weber Bahia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Sur. Loser Obras Basket keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Weber Bahia will face Ferrocarril (#3) in Buenos Aires in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Obras Basket will play on the road against the league's leader Penarol (#1) in Mar del Plata and hope to win that game.
