The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Al-Qazeres (2-1) in Caceres. Hosts were defeated by Argon Uni Girona (3-0) 78-61. The game was mostly controlled by Argon Uni Girona. Al-Qazeres was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Greek forward Artemis Spanou (188-93, college: Robert Morris) accounted for 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) came up with 21 points and the other American import power forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) added 10 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Al-Qazeres in the defeat. Argon Uni Girona will play against Araski (#8) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Qazeres will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
