Regular Season Round 5: Toyotsu FE - Bambitious Nara 83-61

Date: October 8, 2016
Everything could happen in Nagoya at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Toyotsu FE and second-ranked Bambitious Nara had identical 3-1 record. This time Toyotsu FE used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Nara 83-61 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Toyotsu FE. Bambitious Nara was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nigeria center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Toyotsu FE's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and Nigeria forward Andy Ogide (204-87, college: Colorado St., agency: HMS) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Toyotsu FE have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Cyberdyne IR. Bambitious Nara at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Bambitious Nara (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
