Very important is a road loss of Meteors (1-1) against NUIG Mystics (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Meteors were defeated by NUIG Mystics in a tough game in Galway 59-67. NUIG Mystics made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. American power forward Ebony Wells (188, college: La Salle) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Brittany Glasco supported her with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds by American forward Monet Neal (178-95, college: Houston Baptist) did not help to save the game for Meteors. Her fellow American import guard Shelby Smith (173, college: St.Joseph's) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Meteors' coach Igor Petrovich rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. NUIG Mystics will play against Liffey Celtics (#3) in Kildare in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Meteors will play at home against Glanmire to get more than just one victory in their record.
