Rather predictable result when second ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (4-1) won against 5th ranked Toyama Grouses (1-4) in Tokyo 79-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hitachi Sunrockers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Toyama Grouses lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face again Toyama Grouses (#5) at home in the next round.
