The most important game of round 1 took place in Jerusalem where Hapoel Jerusalem crushed Bnei Hasharon (0-1) 81-61 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Hapoel Jerusalem led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hapoel Jerusalem forced 21 Bnei Hasharon turnovers. The former international guard Bar Timor (190-92) stepped up and scored 19 points and 4 steals for the winners and American power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American-Montenegrin forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Bnei Hasharon will play next round against Maccabi Haifa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hapoel Jerusalem will try to continue on its current victory against Maccabi K/G in Kiryat Gat.
