Very expected game when 8th ranked SAP Vaucluse (2-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (4-0) 80-71 on Saturday. SAP Vaucluse trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 20-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Valentin Correia (192-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and DR Congolese-Belgian power forward Ruphin Kayembe (200-92) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and Lithuania forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) scored 22 points. Souffelweyersheim have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Quimper. SAP Vaucluse at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Souffelweyersheim will meet Saint Vallier (#5) on the road in the next round. SAP Vaucluse will play against Caen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
