Regular Season Round 5: Ehime OV - Kagoshima 95-73

Everything could happen in Matsuyama at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Orange Vikings and 6th ranked Kagoshima had identical 1-4 record. This time Orange Vikings used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Renova 95-73 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Orange Vikings. Kagoshima was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orange Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 48. Orange Vikings forced 20 Kagoshima turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orange Vikings (2-4) moved-up to fourth place. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
