Perfumerias Avenida smashed Gipuzkoa UPV in Salamanca 77-43. The game without a history. Perfumerias Avenida led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gipuzkoa UPV to just 6 points in second quarter. Perfumerias Avenida forced 23 Gipuzkoa UPV turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Perfumerias Avenida especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 76.9 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Erica Wheeler (170-91, college: Rutgers) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points. American-FYR Macedonia Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) helped adding 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Perfumerias Avenida's coach Miguel Angel Ortega felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Argentinian center Gisela Vega (188-82) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and forward Sara Iparragirre (171-98) scored 9 points. Gipuzkoa UPV will play next round against Mann Filter trying to get back on the winning streak. Perfumerias Avenida will try to continue on its current victory against CREF Hola in Madrid.
