Regular Season Round 3: Gran Canaria - Gernika 51-69

Very predictable result in Las Palmas where Gernika (2-1) defeated Gran Canaria (0-3) 69-51. The game was mostly controlled by Gernika. Gran Canaria was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Maria Pina (187-87) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Czech forward Michaela Stejskalova (186-87) answered with 14 points and guard Iris Junio (185-99) added 9 points in the effort for Gran Canaria. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gernika's next round opponent will be Zamarat (#11) in Zamora and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play on the road against Campus Promete in Logrono and hopes to get finally their first victory.
