Regular Season Round 1: Albino - Orvieto 40-63

We should not miss the game where Orvieto (1-0) against Albino (0-1) where guest Orvieto crushed their opponents by twenty three points 63-40. The game was mostly controlled by Orvieto. Albino was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Albino to just 6 points in first quarter. Lithuania power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and power forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Orvieto players scored in double figures. The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) came up with 5 points and 9 rebounds and center Giulia Vincenzi (190-98) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Albino in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orvieto's next round opponent will be Empoli (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Albino will play against Alghero (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
