Sesto SG used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Corugate 79-46 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Sesto SG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Carugate to just 5 points in third quarter. Sesto SG dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Carugate's 36. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) fired 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Elisa Ercoli (191-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Emily Correal (190-90, college: William & Mary, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Susanna Stabile (178-80) added 6 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sesto SG will face Team Crema on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Carugate will play against San Salvatore (#6) and hope to win that game.
