The most surprising game was a loss of Catz Lappeenranta (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by ViVe (2-1) 60-52. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 34-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ViVe outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 54-31 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Ashley Luke (185-93, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 21 rebounds. Swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four ViVe players scored in double figures. Forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ariel Massengale (170-93, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points in the effort for Catz Lappeenranta. ViVe is looking forward to face HyPo (#4) in Hyvinkaa in the next round. Catz Lappeenranta will play on the road against Forssan Alku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
