Regular Season Round 4: Telge - Visby 79-75

Date: October 8, 2016
Telge can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Visby Ladies (0-4) 79-75 on Saturday. Visby Ladies were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 12-point lead after three quarters before a 29-13 charge of Telge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) who added 26 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Canadian center Jose-Ann Johnson (193-93, college: Duquesne) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. Visby Ladies' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Telge (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with KFUM Ostersund. It was Visby Ladies' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Telge will meet higher ranked IK Eos (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Visby Ladies will play against the league's second-placed Udominate (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
