Regular Season Round 1: Lavrio - Kymis 75-69

Lavrio used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kymis 75-69 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-69. Lavrio dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Kymis' 22. Lavrio forced 23 Kymis turnovers. American guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) fired 16 points, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners. His fellow American import guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 21 points. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lavrio will meet AEK Athens on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kymis will play against Koroivos (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
