Regular Season Round 2: Kangoeroes - Aalstar 79-88

Very significant was Okapi Aalstar's (#7) 88-79 road victory against Kangoeroes. Okapi Aalstar made 28-of-30 charity shots (93.3 percent) during the game, while Kangoeroes only scored nine points from the stripe. Kangoeroes were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Samoa-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 39 points (!!!) (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Thomas De Thaey (203-91, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 12 points. Okapi Aalstar's coach Steve Ibens allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points by guard Dennis Donkor (193-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) did not help to save the game for Kangoeroes. Naturalized French swingman Anthony Chada (196-89) added 17 points for the hosts. Okapi Aalstar will play against Liege Basket (#7) in Liege in the next round. Kangoeroes will play at home against Belfius Mons-Hainaut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
