Regular Season Round 4: Vitre - Orchies 81-63

Date: October 8, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Vitre and 6th ranked Orchesien BC had identical 2-1 record. This time Vitre used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Orchies 81-63 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Vitre. Orchesien BC managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vitre looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Orchesien BC's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Yann Siegwarth (180-93) who added 13 points and 11 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Vitre maintains third position with 3-1 record behind leader Quimper, which they share with Caen and St Vallier. Orchesien BC at the other side keeps the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Vitre will meet Lorient (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orchesien BC will play against Angers BC (#17) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
