Regular Season Round 2: Toyota A. - Mitsubishi K. 65-63

A very interesting game took place in Nagoya. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Mitsubishi K. (0-1) to Toyota A. (1-0) 65-63 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Mitsubishi K. took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toyota A. took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. Guard Saki Mizushima (171-91) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and international swingman Kaede Kondo (173-91) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Toyota A.'s coach Don Beck allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) did not help to save the game for Mitsubishi K.. Forward Yeliunai Genben (173-95) added 13 points for the guests. Toyota A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nagoya Mitsubishi K..
