Regular Season Round 6: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Excel. 106-67

The game in Nagano supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Tokyo Excel. (2-4) played at the court of fifth ranked Shinshu BW (2-4). Shinshu BW smashed Tokyo Excel. 106-67 on Sunday. Shinshu BW dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Excel.'s 36. They outrebounded Tokyo Excel. 45-21 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Yasuhiko Yasuhiko (181-90) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Swingman Hiroaki Tobita (187-90) replied with 19 points and American center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Excel.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Shinshu BW moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ehime OV and Tokyo Excel. Shinshu BW will face league's second-placed Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tokyo Excel. will play at home against the league's leader Nishinomiya S. and hope to win that game.
