Regular Season Round 6: Toyota Alvark - Chiba Jets 72-67

Rather predictable result in Tokyo where second ranked Toyota Alvark (5-1) defeated 4th ranked Chiba Jets (2-4) 72-67 on Sunday. Chiba Jets trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 26-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-72 at the end of the game. Toyota Alvark made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game, while Chiba Jets only scored four points from the stripe. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St.) with 23 points and his fellow American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds.
