Regular Season Round 2: Umana VE - Betaland Cdo 84-69

Date: October 9, 2016
Not a big story in a game when Betaland Cdo (0-2) lost on the road to Umana Venezia (2-0) 84-69. The game was mostly controlled by Umana Venezia. Betaland Cdo was better in second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umana Venezia forced 20 Betaland Cdo turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Nigeria forward Melvin Ejim (200-91, college: Iowa St.) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. American-Georgia point guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Five Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Umana Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Hungarian swingman Zoltan Perl (195-95) added 17 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Umana Venezia's next round opponent will be Dolomiti En. TR (#6) in Trento where they are favorite. Betaland Cdo will play at home against Auxilium TO (#9) and hope to win that game.
