Regular Season Round 5: Quilmes MP - Obras Basket 67-77

Round 5 most important game was a victory of Obras Basket over 6th ranked Quilmes MP 77-67 on Monday night. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Obras Basket made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game, while Quilmes MP only scored twelve points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Quilmes MP helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Dennis Horner (205-88, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. International power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) added 18 points in the effort for Quilmes MP. Four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Obras Basket (3-3) moved-up to fifth place in Sur. Quilmes MP lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Obras Basket are looking forward to face league's leader Weber Bahia in Bahia Blanca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quilmes MP will play on the road against Boca Juniors (#9) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
