Regular Season Round 5: Ferrocarril - Weber Bahia 59-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Ferrocarril's (4-2) home loss to leader Weber Bahia (5-0) in Buenos Aires 59-69 on Tuesday. Ferrocarril was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Weber Bahia dominated on the defensive end, holding Ferrocarril to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 19 Ferrocarril turnovers. American center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Lucio Redivo (183-94) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Weber Bahia's coach Sebastian Ginobili used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) answered with 18 points and 5 steals and naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) added 6 points and 9 assists in the effort for Ferrocarril. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Weber Bahia. They keep a position of Sur leader. Loser Ferrocarril keeps the third place with two games lost. Weber Bahia will face Obras Basket (#5) in Buenos Aires in the next round. Ferrocarril's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Boca Juniors.
