Regular Season Round 2: Turiba - BJBS Riga 93-52

Very expected game when BJBS Riga (0-3) was rolled over on the road by Turiba (4-0) 93-52 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Turiba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BJBS Riga to just 6 points in first quarter. Turiba dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BJBS Riga's 32. They outrebounded BJBS Riga 54-28 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Arvis Blumbergs (200-95) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Mikelis Liberts (192-96) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Turiba players scored in double figures. Turiba's coach Ziedonis Jansons felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Marcis Egle (185-99) produced 8 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kaspars Vagancuks (186-99) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Turiba will face Livani (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BJBS Riga will play against Ogre/Kumho Tyre and hope to win that game.
