Regular Season Round 4: Bembibre - Al-Qazeres 88-69
Date: October 12, 2016
The game in Bembibre was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Al-Qazeres (2-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Socinsa Bembibre (3-1). Socinsa Bembibre did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-69. The game without a history. Socinsa Bembibre led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by power forward Rita Esther Montenegro (188-82) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Ariel Edwards (190-92, college: Penn St.) supported her with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Four Socinsa Bembibre players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) did not help to save the game for Al-Qazeres. Croatia-Italian center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Socinsa Bembibre have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Gernika. Newly promoted Al-Qazeres dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Socinsa Bembibre's next round opponent will be Araski (#6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Al-Qazeres will play at home against Cadi La Seu and hope to win that game.
