Regular Season Round 3: Salon Vilpas - BC Nokia 80-71

Very predictable result when Salon Vilpas (3-0) defeated at home BC Nokia (0-3) 80-71 on Wednesday. BC Nokia was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-9 charge of Salon Vilpas, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Al'Lonzo Coleman (201-89, college: Presbyterian) chipped in 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Salon Vilpas' coach Joonas Iisalo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese forward Papa Dia (208-87, college: SMU) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kwame Alexander (201-90, college: CS San Bernar.) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Salon Vilpas will meet Lapuan Korikobrat (#4) on the road in the next round. BC Nokia will play against Kauhajoen Karhu (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
