Regular Season Round 4: Campus Promete - Gran Canaria 77-42

Campus Promete can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Gran Canaria (0-4) 77-42. The game without a history. Campus Promete led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gran Canaria to just 6 points in first quarter. Campus Promete dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria's 32. They outrebounded Gran Canaria 45-29 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Leslie Knight (184-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Italian-Australia guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Campus Promete players scored in double figures. Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (183-97) replied with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Brenae Harris (178-92, college: Toledo) added 8 points in the effort for Gran Canaria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Campus Promete (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Gran Canaria's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Campus Promete will play against Zamarat (#12) in Zamora in the next round. Gran Canaria will play at home against the league's second-placed Argon Uni Girona having rather not much hope for a victory.
