Regular Season Round 1: Victoria - Olimpia 41-94

Date: October 12, 2016
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Victoria (0-1) in Grodno on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Olimpia GrGAU (1-0) 94-41. The game without a history. Olimpia GrGAU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 32. Olimpia GrGAU forced 35 Victoria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Victoria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Arina Masko (175-99) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Olga Kopylova (187-82) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Guard Yana Yakhnavets (169-1) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Iryna Dziachek (177-0) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia GrGAU is looking forward to face Gorizont II (#6) in Minsk in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Victoria will play on the road against Gorizont in Minsk and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
