Regular Season Round 6: GECR Indalo - Quilmes MP 92-68

Everything went according to plan in Comodoro R. where fifth ranked GECR Indalo (4-3) outscored 8th ranked Quilmes MP (2-6) 92-68 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by GECR Indalo. Quilmes MP was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GECR Indalo dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Quilmes MP's 22. GECR Indalo forced 19 Quilmes MP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Nicolas De los Santos (180-88) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists during the contest. GECR Indalo's coach Gonzalo Garcia felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) with 13 points and naturalized Spanish forward Ariel Eslava (201-79) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five GECR Indalo and four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. GECR Indalo moved-up to fourth place in Sur. Quilmes MP lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. GECR Indalo will face Hispano Am. (#10) in Rio Gallegos in the next round where they are favorite. Quilmes MP will play on the road against Obras Basket in Buenos Aires and hope to win that game.
