There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 9th ranked Boca Juniors (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Ferrocarril (5-2) 83-77 on Thursday. Ferrocarril made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and center Jose Ignacio Alessio (203-87) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Ferrocarril players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Lucas Perez (185-87) with 21 points and Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Ferrocarril moved-up to second place in Sur, which they share with Penarol. Boca Juniors lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Ferrocarril will face Penarol (#3) in Mar del Plata in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
