Regular Season Round 3: FC Barcelona II - Gipuzkoa GBC 55-63

Everything went according to plan in Barcelona where Gipuzkoa (3-0) won against Barca II (0-3) 63-55 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 18-8. But Barca II won third quarter 16-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gipuzkoa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Barca II's 32. The best player for the winners was Lithuania center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) who scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Sergi Pino (197-87, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Gipuzkoa's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jordi Trias (208-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and Sergi Martinez (201-99) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gipuzkoa will face Ourense (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barca II will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
