Regular Season Round 3: Burgos - Oviedo 106-83

There was a surprise result when Burgos (1-2) outscored at home Oviedo CB (2-1) 106-83 on Friday. The game without a history. Burgos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo CB's 24. Burgos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was center Javier Vega (205-88) who scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) chipped in 14 points. Five Burgos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Daniel Perez (200-69) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos will face CB Prat (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oviedo CB will play against Caceres Basket and hope to win that game.
