There was no surprise in Saporro where 4th placed Hokkaido L. (3-5) was crushed by first ranked Tochigi Brex (7-1) 98-66 on Friday. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Hokkaido L. 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tochigi Brex made 8 blocks. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain first place with 7-1 record. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
