Regular Season Round 3: Fjolnir - Armann 117-53

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik: Fjolnir (#5) and Armann (#7). Fjolnir (2-1) crushed visiting Armann (0-3) by 64 points 117-53. The game without a history. Fjolnir led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Armann to just 6 points in first quarter. Fjolnir dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Armann's 34 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Fjolnir forced 21 Armann turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 39-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Collin Pryor (200-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) helped adding 14 points and 7 assists. Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Dagur Palsson with 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Thorleifur Baldvinsson (189-93) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fjolnir's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Valur.
