Regular Season Round 6: Chartres - SAP Vaucluse 73-75

A very interesting game took place in Chartres. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked UB Chartres (2-4) to eleventh ranked SAP Vaucluse (3-3) 75-73 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 9-point deficit before their 25-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. SAP Vaucluse shot 19 for 27 from the free-throw line, while UB Chartres only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded UB Chartres 45-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by UB Chartres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuania forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. American forward Jonathan Mitchell (201-87, college: Rutgers, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Kevin Bichard (195-86) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for UB Chartres. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. UB Chartres at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. SAP Vaucluse's next round opponent will be Lourdes-Tarbes (#15) at home and are hoping to win another game. UB Chartres will play against Saint Vallier and hope to win that game.
