Regular Season Round 3: Etzella - T71 80-70

Date: October 15, 2016
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of T71 (2-1) in Ettelbruck on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Etzella (3-0) 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by Etzella. T71 managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to T71's 26. It was a great evening for American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Malik Wilson (185-95) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Etzella is looking forward to face Arantia (#7) in Larochette in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. T71 will play at home against Contern and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
