Regular Season Round 4: Rivas - Quintanar 58-74

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Rivas (1-3) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Quintanar (2-1) 74-58 on Saturday. Quintanar outrebounded Rivas 43-27 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Javier Carpio (185-89) responded with 12 points and forward Pablo Gimenez (192-91) scored 12 points and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Quintanar moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Newly promoted Rivas keeps the twelfth position with three games lost. Quintanar will face Villarrobledo (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rivas will play against Torrelodones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
