First defeat of Cagliari CUS (1-1) against Milano (2-0) 67-46 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. Cagliari CUS managed to win third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cagliari CUS 43-21 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Latvia power forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Milano's coach Franz Pinotti felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
